Zambia is seeking to move its relationship with Finland toward greater cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, technology, and skills development. The Ministry of Finance says Finland has already supported Zambia's SME programme, entrepreneurship training, and the development of Zambia's first National AI Strategy.
The cooperation has involved a notable mix of institutions and companies, including Aalto University, Maria 01, Nokia, Omnia, and Airtel — bringing together Finnish strengths in research, deep tech, vocational training, and digital infrastructure with Zambia's priorities for enterprise growth and digital transformation.
What's Already on the Table
The partnership is not starting from a blank page. Several pieces of cooperation are already underway or have already delivered:
